Trip to Minneapolis today….

Posted: July 24, 2005 in Friends, Music

Man, do I love Minneapolis. It had been a while since I actually went downtown, so today me and a friend of mine went down to Vityl Vinal (after not going for a few months) only to find out some rather disturbing news.

Vityl Vinyl is fine, but they are stocking alot less Vinyl than they used to (about half) and now branching out into merchandize. I was lucky enough to be there when the owner was there as well. You see, it is an independant store, which is part of what makes it so cool. Well to make a long story short, Let it Be Records in Minneapolis is no more. In it’s place are some condo’s. They still have a website and online store, so hopefully they can reopen somewhere sometime soon, but at this time it is not known if that will happen.

I hope Vityl Vinyl can stay open, as its great to have local businesses like that to keep the money here, instead in some corporate pockets.
